Lots of elephants

It is possible that moving to Estonia makes me nervous. And that means that my hand needs always something to do. And this means that number of elephants is grown to 14. Here they are (composition is made by my son):
After that I have made one mouse:
And my children said, that this needs also 2 baby-mouse. OK, hopfully I manage this.
But my caracter cannot bear to only crochet. This means that I had knitted also. At first I tried with little things like socks. And while socks are to easy :) for me, then I tried to figure out soemthing what makes this for me little bit more complicated. I closed my eyes and used my imagination and result is this:
Socks have collar and made with bumerang heal. But this was too easy for me and I was ready with two evenings. Meanwhile I finished and blocked my Haapsalu shawl. Blocking was challenge, but better than nothing:
And so I started new project (for my husband I said that this for lessing my yarn rests). I started sweater from last Rebecca. But with two evening I already finished back. Let see how it ends. This is how this looks in journal:
Interesting. And at least in the moment I see some challenge in this.

Happy Easter!

My children ate today lot of chocolate. And waked up at 5:30 and found all goodies Easter bunny had left to them. But I love them anyway (or because they let me sleep when they are awake).

But about some news. We will leave Germany and move back to Estonia. In this reason I try to less my stash. This would be hard work but I started already. This means I looked after skeins I have only one or only so little left that I cannot do anything usable from this. There are quite lot of yarn like this. So I got idea that I can crochet some little animals like good-by present for my children kindergarten groups. And as my daughter’s group name is “Elephant” I decided to do at least 25 elephants (so many children are in this group) and 15 elephants or some other animals for my son group.

That seams quite lot animals, but when I crochet every day at least one little animal, I will manage. I have already 7 little elephants and one piglet, so there are hope that I will really manage.

What I have did meanwhile? Lot of things. I have finished my jacket,

fingerless opera gloves and one other pair fingerless gloves (what I cannot find anymore for photo).

I finished my “Upside-down” sweater and my little daughter call this “sweater-dress”.

I knitted also one top

and made one shawl in style of “Haapsalu Shawl”.

In style only because I had any so thin yarn this kind of things usually made of.

And while my daugther was really ill, I made for her heart pillow. She had asked this already long time, but to little ill girl I cannot say no, so here it is:

I am knitting and thats the reason why I don't blog

I have been very lazy writter, but very busy knitter or crocheter. There have been several projects what are ready or in half. My favorite project in the moment is variations in Abotanicity
from Knitty's last winter issue. And here it is:

Yesterday I made almost ready my doughters cap (missing only some accessorys)

and half ready is my jacket in 50's style (I hope that this is 50's not 60's style, if not then you can correct me).

I am absolutly sure that there are more ready projects ... Oh, yes 2 pairs socks with granny squere. Igot this idea from Granddaughter Socks by Karen Baumer from Interweave Crochet, Fall 2005. I modifyd this littlebit but result is lovely (at least I think so).

Beginning

Yesterday said my 5 years old son that he needs slippers. Warm slippers. And there must be a Christmas tree with everything. So, as he likes warm and feels cold very easy, I looked from my wool rests suitable wool, took my measuring-tape, scratch book and started. With help my son I got this result:

With a little improvisation I got this result:

And after hard ;) work I managed to write down how-to-do those slippers. Here can you download this patter as pdf.
